Live concert recording
Client: The Magic Lantern
Objective:
Recording sound on location for a concert video featuring songs from The Magic Lantern's fifth album 'To Everything A Season'.
Summary:
A concert video captured in one live take at the Pianodrome in Edinburgh on 31st October 2024 while The Magic Lantern were on tour in Scotland. For this collaborative effort, I was responsible for location recording and subsequent mixing/mastering; Louise Mather & Jamie Stewart took care of filming. The band recorded in complete 20+ minute takes so the pressure was on. I used my high-end rig, but with additional redundant recording to a SoundDevices portable recorder, just in case!
