Martyn makes his own scrolls from scratch (some lesser makers buy them in). Here's one in progress. Carved from one block of wood, the craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking.
Every time I bump my bass on a door lintel or heavy lampshade, denting the scroll in the process, I almost feel the need to write Martyn a written apology.
